Every Kordovan piece begins with a single question: will this last a lifetime? If the answer is anything less than yes, it doesn't leave our workshop.
We don't make leather goods to be replaced. We make them to be carried, worn, and eventually passed on — and every decision in our workshop serves that one promise.
Only the top of the hide.
We work exclusively with full-grain and vegetable-tanned leathers — the finest, most durable cuts available. Unlike corrected or bonded leather, full-grain keeps the natural surface of the hide intact.
That means it breathes, resists moisture, and ages into a rich patina that records exactly how you carry it. No two pieces will ever wear quite the same.
Five steps, no shortcuts.
Cut
Each panel is cut by hand from the strongest part of the hide, working around natural marks so only the best leather makes it into your piece.
Skive
Edges are skived — thinned by hand — so seams fold clean and sit flat, with no bulk where panels meet.
Saddle-stitch
Seams are saddle-stitched with two needles and waxed thread. If one stitch ever breaks, the rest hold — far stronger than any machine lockstitch.
Burnish
Raw edges are sealed and burnished by friction until they're smooth and glossy — the detail that separates heirloom leather from the rest.
Finish
Every piece is conditioned, inspected, and reinforced at its stress points before it's boxed — and only then does it earn the Kordovan name.
