The biker jacket, and who it suits

The asymmetric zip is not styling for its own sake. It came from motorcycling, where a centre zip pressed into the sternum as a rider leaned forward, and offsetting it moved the hardware off the breastbone. How it should fit

Closer than you think. A biker jacket is meant to sit near the body, ending at the hip bone rather than below it, with the shoulder seam landing on the edge of your shoulder and not past it. Sleeves should stop at the wrist bone. Black reads sharper and more formal, and it is the safer first jacket. Brown softens with age more visibly and sits better against denim and earth tones.
